Nyepi is a sacred Balinese Hindu celebration marking the beginning of a new year—a moment to cleanse the island from past energies and welcome a fresh, harmonious start.
For 24 hours, Bali transforms into a place unlike anywhere else in the world. The streets fall silent, the skies grow darker, and the entire island pauses. There is no traffic, no flights, no outside activity—only stillness. Guests remain within the comfort of their villas or rooms, embracing a rare sense of peace and uninterrupted calm. This tradition is guided by four sacred principles:
• Amati Geni: no fire or light
• Amati Karya: no work
• Amati Lelungan: no travel
• Amati Lelanguan: no entertainment

Want to know the reason behind the raucous parades on the eve of NYEPI, followed by total silence? The Balinese believe that evil spirits scour the earth looking for colonies to torment. So, the parades are designed to catch the attention of these evil spirits and draw them to the island. When is Nyepi Day in 2026?
Nyepi Day will fall on Thursday, 19th March 2026, marking the beginning of a new year in the Balinese calendar. The Day of Silence begins at 06:00 AM and continues for the next 24 hours, during which the entire island embraces stillness, reflection, and complete tranquility.
What to Expect During Nyepi
During Nyepi, the entire island embraces a day of complete stillness. To ensure a respectful and seamless experience, kindly take note of the following:
• Guests are required to remain within the resort area
• No traffic or transportation will operate across Bali
• The airport will be completely closed (no arrivals or departures)
• Outdoor activities are not permitted
• Lights must be dimmed at night (please keep curtains closed)
• Please keep noise, music, and television volume at a minimum
Resort Operations
To ensure a comfortable and seamless stay during Nyepi, our resort services have been thoughtfully arranged as follows:
1. Public Facilities
All resort facilities, including the public gym, and public pool, will operate normally until 7:00 PM, allowing you to fully enjoy the resort’s amenities before the evening quiet hours begin.
2. Ksuna Restaurant
Breakfast is served from 06:00 AM – 10:00 AM, lunch from 11:00 AM – 03:00 PM, and early dinner from 04:00 PM – 07:00 PM. Last order for food & beverages will be at 06:30 PM. Restaurant and room service will be closed at 07:00 PM.
3. Alma Spa
Our spa is open from 09:00 AM – 07:00 PM, offering a range of relaxing treatments designed to help you unwind and fully embrace the peaceful atmosphere of Nyepi.
4. Housekeeping
Housekeeping service will be available throughout the day and will conclude at 07:00 PM, ensuring your room is well-prepared for a comfortable and restful evening during Nyepi.
5. Front Office
Our Front Office team remains available 24 hours to assist you at any time during Nyepi. Should you require any urgent assistance or have any inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us by dialing “0”, and our team will be pleased to assist you promptly.
